Lessons for all ages and experience levels

I am available for trumpet, jazz improv, and composition/arranging lessons for students of all ages and experience levels in Chicago and the surrounding area. I customize each lesson to the individual student and incorporate ear training, listening, basic music theory, and general musicianship development into every lesson.

Convenient and affordable

I teach out of my home studio in Chicago, and I am available for Zoom lessons or group lessons. I charge $75 for an hour-long lesson or $65 for a 45 minute lesson. Depending on your location, I can come to you for a small additional travel stipend.

My background

I have a BM in Jazz Trumpet from Oberlin Conservatory and have been freelancing as a jazz musician and educator since 2016. I am currently the jazz combo director and improv instructor at John Hersey High School (Arlington Heights, IL), and a jazz faculty member at Midwest Young Artists (Highwood, IL). I have also taught privately and in classroom settings through organizations including MUSIC Inc., Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, Stanford Jazz Workshop, Music House Inc., and UpBeat Music and Arts.
